Genere di piante che crescono bene vicino al mare, ma anche in zone più interne. Resistono molto bene ai venti forti. Hanno graziosi rami esili e piccoli fiori rosa. E' necessaria una potatura regolare per non renderne l'aspetto troppo rado.
